Company Description
Shanggong Co., Ltd., the earliest manufacturer in its industry in China, is a large enterprise specialized in the manufacture of sewing equipment. It is as well one of the major exporting bases of sewing equipment in China. In 1994, Shanggong was restructured as a joint stock company and issued both Class A and B shares, and thus became the first listed company ¡V and the only one of both A and B shares even nowadays ¡V in the Chinese sewing machine industry. As at end of 2002, the accumulated production / sales quantity of industrial and household sewing machines totaled over 6 million sets and nearly 100 million sets respectively, accounting for approx. 1/3 and 7/10 of their respective total number of the country. With ¡§ Shanggong ¡¨ and ¡§ Butterfly ¡¨ recognized as the Chinese famous trademarks, Shanggong is the only enterprise in this industry in China to own two famous brand names.
